Family Assist
A family member installs the free Family Assist app from Google Play or the App Store and sets up the phone remotely. The app works over SMS, and HMD says no data plan is needed on the family member's side. From there, the family member can add contacts, set reminders, adjust the volume and configure the SOS feature.
The SOS button
Holding the SOS button for three seconds calls a preset number and texts up to five emergency contacts. HMD says the button does not replace public emergency services.
School Mode and controls
A Family PIN can turn on School Mode, whitelist contacts and block apps.
