Update, October 27: Delivery estimates for new online orders have not settled. Within days of preorders opening, the estimates moved from mid November to late January 2027, and some individual orders have since moved earlier, to November 16 to 23 or November 20 to 30. Pickup returned in the United States and Canada on October 24 for about five minutes, and most stores had no slots. Check the estimate on your own order.
iPhone Duo Goes on Sale Friday, but Store Stock Will Be Limited
Update, October 25: Pickup reservations briefly reopened in the United States and Canada early on Saturday, October 24, and reports say pickup has resumed in several other countries. Slots remain scarce, and Apple has not announced a restock date.
Update, October 24: Reports from launch day describe queues at some Apple Stores, and walk in stock selling out at some locations by mid morning. Online preorders have sold out, and resale listings are well above the $1,999 list price. The full launch day picture is in our launch day article.
Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, goes on sale on Friday, October 23. Preorders opened last Friday, and within a day the estimated delivery for every color and storage size had moved into late January 2027. The launch is now mostly a story about supply, and the most useful question for buyers is how to get a phone this week.
What Apple has told stores
Apple's retail staff have been asked to warn walk in customers that Duo stock will be small, and that availability will differ from one country to the next. Apple has not said how many units each store will receive, so there is no way to know in advance whether a particular shop will have one on the day.
Online pickup is a separate route. Apple's own store says customers should check back on Saturday, October 24, to see whether pickup is available for their location. A pickup reservation option appeared during preorders and was then switched off, so it is not a reliable way to secure a unit right now.
| Route | What is reported |
|---|---|
| Walk in on launch day | Small stock that varies by country, not guaranteed |
| Online pickup | Check the Apple store on October 24 for your location |
| Japan and South Korea | Pickup reservation only, for a limited time |
| New online orders today | Estimated delivery in late January 2027 |
What to do if you want one
If you want the phone soon, call or visit your nearest Apple Store on Friday and ask directly about stock for the model and color you want. If you can wait, check the Apple store again on Saturday, since pickup availability is expected to appear that day. Buying from a reseller at a higher price is the other option, but a price above Apple's $1,999 starting point is a reason to pause and compare.
Apple has not said whether the supply limit will ease in the first weeks, and delivery estimates can change again. We will update this piece if Apple confirms more stock or new pickup dates.
