This is a spec sheet review. We have not yet tested the Signature 27 ourselves, so this piece judges the phone on its listed hardware and names the questions that only a test with the phone in hand can answer. We will add test results once we have a unit.

Display

The 6.8 inch screen is large for a flagship, and its 165Hz refresh rate is higher than the 120Hz found on many flagships. A high refresh rate makes scrolling and games look smoother, but it also uses more power. Brightness and colour accuracy need a meter test before we can rate the panel.

Performance

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is a new Qualcomm chip, and the Signature 27 comes with 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Those numbers suggest a phone built for heavy multitasking and demanding games. Real speed and heat under load can only be judged in tests, so we will publish benchmark and temperature results when we have them.

Battery

The 7000mAh battery is large. Our spec sheet does not list the charging speed, so we cannot say how quickly the battery refills. Battery life depends on the screen and chip together, which is why we will run a standard test before giving a verdict.

Cameras

Our spec sheet lists a 50MP main camera and a 50MP selfie camera. It does not list a telephoto lens. Motorola's official press image, however, shows a lens marked 200MP with 100x super zoom. We will update the camera section once the spec sheet confirms that lens, and photo quality will need a sample test before we rate it.

Connectivity and extras

The phone has NFC. Our spec sheet does not list eSIM support, a 3.5mm headphone jack or a microSD slot. Buyers who want a second number through eSIM or a wired headset should check those points before buying.

Who it suits

The Signature 27 looks aimed at buyers who want a large, fast screen, a big battery and the newest Qualcomm chip. Its missing extras make it less suitable for people who rely on a microSD slot, a headphone jack or eSIM. We will confirm the verdict after testing.
